I believe we are in a movement of authenticity in the evangelical Church. Perhaps it’s more than just Christianity. Perhaps we are all in a season where we want more experience, more reality, maybe the false pretenses and the rules drive away our desire to be close to the God who created us. Perhaps, we feel like the real us isn’t good enough for God. Being more of who God created us to be is getting to know the God who created us. God never runs from the truth or tries harder to be something He is not. He wants authenticity. We can’t know who we are until we are ready to be who we are, right now. Angry? Sad? Rebellious? Jealous? Humble? Content? Grateful? Whatever it is, it’s ok for this moment. It’s actually planned for this moment.
