Tell the Truth

All spiritual transformation starts with the truth.  Many times we can live in denial.  We don’t know what we feel, we don’t know that what we feel is okay, and we try to feel what others tell us to feel.  But what do you feel?  What is the truth for you at this moment?  Honesty is the birthplace of change.

When Trouble Comes Your Way

Trouble give us a chance to find out what we are made of.  Times of economic decline, cheating spouses, little kids interrupting practically everything you start, when someone cuts you off in traffic, an unrepentant offense, an unexpected diagnosis, a loss of an imagined future.

When Paul talks about being joyous not only in times of prosperity, I think he was not only talking about financial prosperity – but circumstantial prosperity.  He found a secret that can sustain us when trouble comes our way.

It’s a time to reinvent our self, to be more of our true selves.  When trouble hits we have two directions we can go…further into our cages that rob us of our dreams or start digging our way out.  You see at the time of crisis or trouble, we have nothing more to lose.  When our business is losing money, when we realize the relationship we are in may not survive, when we wake up and understand that we can’t control other people but only ourselves we are set free to try again.  This is when we realize what we are truly made of.  The chaos, the crisis, the truth has begun to set us free.

“So take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees.  Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.”  -Hebrews 12:12-13
